WELSH OPEN 2017: DRAW, TV SCHEDULE, RESULTS & ODDS

The full results from the Welsh Open at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.

The 2017 Welsh Open was snooker's 14th ranking event of the 2016/17 season and took place at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff from February 13 to 19.

Defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan was favourite to win a record his fifth Welsh Open crown but John Higgins, who has also claimed this title four times, was be among the other 127 players battling for the Ray Reardon Trophy.

The event was also the last of the season's Coral Home Nations series, with the others being won by Liang Wenbo (English Open), Mark King (Northern Ireland Open) and Marco Fu (Scottish Open).

Defending champion Ronnie O'Sullivan heads into the Welsh Open as the 9/2 favourite with Sky Bet as he bids to win this tournament for a record fifth time.

World champion Mark Selby is the 6/1 second favourite ahead of Judd Trump (9/1), Neil Robertson (10/1) and the 2015 winner John Higgins (12/1), who is also chasing a fifth Welsh Open crown.

The other main contenders in the betting are Ding Junhui (14/1), Shaun Murphy (16/1), Marco Fu (22/1), Mark Allen (25/1), Barry Hawkins (25/1) and Stuart Bingham (28/1).

Welsh Open Snooker History

The Welsh Open made its debut on the snooker calendar back in 1992, when Stephen Hendry beat Darren Morgan, making this the longest running ranking event apart from the World and UK Championship.Originally held in Newport, the tournament made it's return to Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena in 2015 for the first time since 2003.Mark Williams is the only Welsh player to win the event having triumphed back in 1996 and 1999 while John Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan hold the record for the most titles with four.
