Indian Cueists win 23 medals during 2018

PANKAJ LAY HOLD OF BILLIARDS; AMEE, KEERTHANA LIFTS MAIDEN TITLES
 
The year 2018 remained full of medals for India and our cueists shown their grit to win at Asian and IBSF World Championships.
 
India’s celebrated cueist Pankaj Advani took his tally of World titles to 21 by winning both the World Billiards formats (150-Up and Long-Up) for the year 2018. He also won the Asian Billiards title for the year 2018.
 
The Asian Confederation of Billiards Sport also introduced Asian Ranking Tour with new format of 10Reds Snooker. This series includes three championships and in that also Pankaj won two medals in two championships. The first event held in Doha where Pankaj missed the gold by losing semi-final bout and settled for Bronze but in the next, he conquered all around and won the Gold at Jinan, China. Third championship is yet to take place very soon.
 
In addition to above, Pankaj and his partner Manan Chandra emerged as Champion in the newly introduced World Team Snooker Cup 2018 by defeating Team Pakistan in a thrilling decider. Overall Pankaj bagged total 7 medals during 2018.
 
Year 2018 was also memorable for women cueists when Indore based Amee Kamani becomes the first Indian women cueist to win the Asian Women Snooker Championship. Amee knocked out Thai player Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan in straight set of frames 3-0. 
 
Taking cue from the senior, Bengaluru based junior cueist, Keerthana Pandian also shown her talent in World Under-16 Women championship and won gold by defeating Belarus player Albina Leschuk 3-1.
