CENTURY RECORD EQUALLED

John Higgins’ break of 143 in the 21st frame of his semi-final with David Gilbert was the 86th century of the Betfred World Championship.
That equals the record 86 which was set in 2015 and equalled in 2016. With three full days still to run at the Crucible, the record will surely be smashed.
Higgins’ break was also the highest of the tournament so far, beating Judd Trump’s 141.
