SIX RED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2018 Six Red World Championship will run from September 3 to 8.

Mark Williams won the title for the first time in 2017 by beating Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 8-2 in the final.

The tournament takes place in Bangkok, Thailand and has been a regular fixture on the calendar since 2012. Mark Davis won the first two stagings of the event before Stephen Maguire took the title in 2014 by beating Ricky Walden in the final. In 2015, home favourite Thepchaiya Un-Nooh won his first pro title by beating Liang Wenbo in the final. Then in 2016 Ding Junhui beat Stuart Bingham 8-7 in a thrilling final.

This invitation event uses six reds instead of the traditional 15. Snooker has a rich history in Thailand and the best local amateurs are handed the opportunity to compete in this event, alongside many of the world’s top professionals.
