Cueball Derby Club is all set to stage an event next month on the new Challenge Tour.
Cueball Derby has been selected by World Snooker to stage an event next month on the new Challenge Tour.
Challenge Tour event five will take place at Cueball Derby on September 18-19.
World Snooker announced in March that snooker clubs throughout England would be given the opportunity to bid to host Challenge Tour events.
Bob Hill, Club and Facilities Manager for the WPBSA, said: “We had a range of excellent bids from clubs during the tendering process, and we would like to thank all of those who applied.
“It was a very difficult decision choosing the host clubs. We feel that Derby will deliver a successful event next month and we will continue to review options for future host venues.”
The Challenge Tour is running for the first time this season as a secondary circuit below the World Snooker Tour. The top two players on the Order of Merit after ten events will graduate to the pro circuit.
