DAY DRIBBLES PAST HIGGINS AND TRUMP
Ryan Day remained on course for back to back titles as he beat John Higgins 4-1 in the quarter-finals of the Romanian Snooker Masters.
Day is enjoying his finest season on the World Snooker Tour, having claimed his maiden ranking crown at the Riga Masters and doubling that tally at the ManBetX Gibraltar Open last week.
The Welshman complied the bigger breaks in this quarter-final encounter. He fired in runs of 64 and 86 on his way to victory.
In Saturday’s last four he’ll face Kyren Wilson, who beat Judd Trump 4-2 in a repeat of their recent Masters semi-final.
That clash was one of the most dramatic matches of the season so far, with Wilson fighting back from 5-2 down to win 6-5 and reach his maiden Triple Crown final. In Bucharest the Warrior once again overturned a deficit.
Trump had led 2-1, but three frames in a row from the 2015 Shanghai Masters champion saw him book his last four meeting with Day.
In the other semi-final, Stuart Bingham faces Ali Carter.
