Promising teenager Page, whose top break today was 59, must win four more matches to earn a World Snooker Tour card.
Adam Duffy, who lost in the final round of event two, moved into the third round by coming from 2-0 down to beat Wayne Townsend 4-2 with a top run of 80.
David Grace, who reached the semi-finals of the UK Championship in 2015, was relegated from the tour at the end of last season and his hopes of an immediate return ended with a 4-1 defeat against Ben Hancorn.
Other winners on Monday included Jamie Cope, James Cahill, Thor Chuan Leong and Icelandic veteran Kristjan Helgason.
