MURPHY QUALIFIES FOR CHINA CHAMPIONSHIP

2005 World Champion Shaun Murphy booked his place in the final stages of the China Championship with a 5-2 win over Fan Zhengyi in Barnsley.
Murphy came into this match off the back of a strong showing at last week’s International Championship, where he was runner-up to Judd Trump.
The Magician had trailed 2-1 before a barrage of breaks saw him surge to victory. Murphy fired in runs of 101, 141, 83 and 53 to claim four frames in a row and emerge a 5-2 victor.
Scotland’s 2006 Crucible king Graeme Dott narrowly edged past Welsh teenage star Jackson Page 5-4 to book his place in Guangzhou. While 2017 China Champion Luca Brecel thrashed Zhang Anda 5-1.
Triple Crown winner Neil Robertson came from 2-0 down to beat Gerard Greene 5-3 and Stephen Maguire booked his place in Guangzhou with a 5-3 defeat of Ian Burns.
