New Structure for National Billiards and Snooker championships
The Billiards and Snooker Federation of India has now adapted a new structure for the upcoming National Billiards and Snooker Championships for the seniors category of Men.
In this new structure for Snooker, the State Associations have been allocated restricted number of slots for sending players. These players will play the qualifying matches on double elimination basis. (The State wise allocated slots are as per attached image).
These 144 players will play double-elimination round and qualified 32 players will be grouped with previous year’s top-32 national players for the round robin stage. The format for Round robin stage will be best of 7 frames, followed by
- Last 32 Best of 9 frames
- Last 16 Best of 9 frames
- Quarter Finalist Best of 9 frames
- Semi Finalist Best of 9 frames
- Finals Best of 11 frames
For Billiards, the current format as in vogue except for the following change:
- Billiards group stage league will be of best of 7 games of 100-Up
- Last 32, Last 16 and Quarter Finals will be of best of 7 games 150-Up
- Semi-Finals and Finals will be of best of 9 games 150-Up
