Rawat Is On Top Of The World

Laxman Rawat, the Mumbai based snooker player, lived his dream after defeating Muhammad Asif, Pakistan based snooker player. Rawat claimed the world 6 Red Title after defeating former world snooker champion by 6-5.
His nerves were tensed in the final frame to overcome Muhammad Asif in IBSF 6 Red SnookerWorld Championship final in Myanmar.
The Delhi born cueist said- It was an unreal moment for me. I had worked hard on my game during the Asian Championship and World Championships earlier. And, here, I am the World Champion. It is the most important day of my life,” added Rawat.
In the best of 11 frames final, Laxman took a 5-1 lead, but a robust comeback was made by Asif with back to back frame victories for forcing the tie into the deciding frame.
Although Asif just needed blue to secure his victory, he missed it, giving a slight chance to Laxman. Laxman held his nerve and potted blue in the center, then pink in the top pocket to correctly land on black. Even though the position was straight, he took some more time to pot the desired black for becoming the world champion.
Rawat explained that he gathered confidence from his thrilling win over legendary Pankaj Advani in the semifinal. Advani is the only one to have won 6 red World Championship in 2014, winning him gave him a massive boost that he could take over anyone in front of him.
After conquering the world, Rawat is willing to become a professional player.
