TAYLOR EDGES OUT KLECKERS
Allan Taylor defeated Germany’s Lukas Kleckers 4-3 to progress to round four of Q School event three in Wigan.
Taylor and Kleckers both dropped off the tour at the end of last season. Kleckers is now in danger of missing out on an immediate return to professional status. He will need to rely on other results and hope to cling to his place in the top four of the Order of Merit.
Englishman Taylor has tasted success at this event before, he bounced back from tour relegation by coming through Q School in 2017.
Taylor composed breaks of 80, 76 and 55 on his way to this morning’s victory. He will face Pakistan’s Hamza Akbar later this evening for a place in the final day line up. Akbar came through a 4-3 winner against Owais Ali.
Finland’s former Shoot Out winner Robin Hull whitewashed Austrian Andreas Ploner 4-0. While exciting Chinese 16-year-old Si Jiahui, who currently tops the Order of Merit, defeated Haydon Pinhey 4-1.
