THE RECORD OF CENTURIES AT THE CRUCIBLE LOOKS SET TO BE BROKEN,
The record of 86 centuries at the Crucible looks set to be broken, with 82 already made in this year’s Betfred World Championship (after the fifth frame of John Higgins v David Gilbert).
With the semi-finals and final still to be played, seven more tons over the next five days would set a new record, beating the mark of 86 which was set in 2015 and equalled in 2016.
Neil Robertson made the 80th century of this year’s 17-day tournament on Wednesday night during his quarter-final against John Higgins, which triggered a massive donation of £25,000 from Betfred to our official charity Jessie May.
Of the four semi-finalists, Gary Wilson has had seven tons so far, John Higgins six, Judd Trump has made five including a tournament-high 141 and David Gilbert four.
