WALDEN BEATS SELBY IN GIBRALTAR

World Champion Mark Selby suffered a 4-3 reverse against Ricky Walden in the last 32 of the Jojobet.com Gibraltar Open. Selby won two matches in the world ranking event and led Walden 3-1. But world number 21 Walden, who earlier knocked out Liang Wenbo and Yan Bingtao, hit back to take the next two frames with breaks of 61 and 83, then won the decider 66-36.
Shaun Murphy edged out Allan Taylor 4-3 in a high quality last 32 match which featured five breaks over 60. From 3-2 down, Murphy won frame six with a run of 66 and the decider with 49 and 31. Mark Williams earned his last 16 spot with a 4-3 win over China's Zhao Xintong. After being hauled back from 3-1 to 3-3, Williams won the decider with a break of 60. In form Barry Hawkins beat Michael White 4-2 in the last 32 with a top break of 66. Alfie Burden top scored with 133 in a 4-2 defeat of Jamie Jones while Mark Davis edged out Lee Walker 4-3 by winning a 39-minute deciding frame 62-19.
