WILSON MISSES OUT ON BERLIN SPOT

Defending champion Kyren Wilson will not return to the Tempodrom in Berlin to defend his BetVictor German Master's title after he suffered a 5-4 loss to China’s Zhao Xintong on the final day of qualifying in Barnsley.
Wilson claimed the title last year with a thrilling 9-7 win over David Gilbert in the final, which was contested in front of over 2,000 fans in the German capital. However, breaks of 66,109 and 127 saw talented 22-year-old Zhao progress on this occasion.
There were further shocks on Sunday as Mark Selby and Mark Allen succumbed to deciding frame 5-4 defeats. Their respective conquerors were world number 95 Jamie Clarke and world number 121 Gerard Greene.
World Champion Judd Trump atoned for missing out on qualification for the BetVictor European Masters by beating Stuart Carrington 5-2 to make it to Berlin. The Ace in the Pack composed runs of 107, 62, 56 and 116 on his way to victory.
UK Champion Ding Junhui emerged with a 5-2 win over Matthew Stevens, while three-time Crucible king Mark Williams beat Mark King 5-2 to secure his place in the final stages.
