Career
James Cahill (born 27 December 1995) is an English professional snooker player. He is Stephen Hendry's nephew. Cahill turned professional in 2013 after winning the 2013 EBSA European Under-21 Snooker Championships and gained a two-year tour card for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 snooker seasons.
2015/2016
Cahill failed to win more than one match in any event in the 2015/2016 season, winning five matches all year. He won a game at the Welsh Open for the first time by beating Xiao Guodong 4–1, but then lost 4–1 to Mark Davis.
2016/2017
Cahill got to the third round of the Paul Hunter Classic by eliminating Kevin Vandevoort 4–0 and Ryan Day 4–2. He made two breaks above 50 to come back from 3–1 against world number one Mark Selby to level, but lost the deciding frame.Cahill was beaten 4–1 by Joe Swail in the second round of the English Open and after that lost in the first round of five ranking events, though he did get to the third round of the Snooker Shoot-Out.He will need to have a successful run in Q School at the end of the season as he will be relegated from the tour because he is ranked 106th in the world.
