Pankaj Advani adds one more title to his Silverware Collection
An outstanding Indian billiard and snooker player Pankaj Arjan Advani has added one more feather to his cap by defeating Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon 6-3 in the final. Advani has become the only one to win the Asian and World championships in all formats and achieved the milestone of 35th men’s Asian Snooker Championship. He completed his grand slam in cue sports, with this outstanding triumph. He now has conquered the ACBS Asian Snooker Events 6 red (short format) and 15 red (long format) along with the IBSF World Championship in both formats as well.
Advani had this elusive 15-red Asian Snooker title missing from his silverware collection and now has achieved that too.
He is a 21-time World Champion and has a hat-trick of hat-tricks in English billiards, holding the World, Asian, and Indian National Championship titles simultaneously, in three different years: 2005, 2008 and 2012 and recently in 2017.
He is also India's first world champion in 6-red snooker. Since 2014, Advani has focused solely on English billiards.
He has received various prestigious awards from the Government of India; the Arjuna Award in 2004, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in the year 2006, Padma Shri Award in 2009 and Padma Bhushan in 2018.
Undoubtedly, Advani is an exemplary player who never lets down his fans and the ones who expect wins from him. He will now be competing in the upcoming IBSF World Cup.
