Manan Chandra was born on 28 February 1981 in New Delhi. He is an internationally notable Indian amateur snooker and pool player.
Chandra got the attention of public and media by winning the under 21 Snooker Nationals in 1997 and from there on he never looks back and won the under 21 Billiard Nationals in 1999, under 21 Snooker Nationals title in 1999 and 2001.
He continued his prolific form by winning 9 Ball pool national championships in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 8 ball pool championships in 2005.
He won the 2006 Snooker National Championship and reached the semi final at the 2006 IBSF World Championships in Amman, Jordan, where he was eliminated by Daniel Ward 8-7.
He claimed the title of 9 ball pool nationals in 2007 & 8 ball pool titles in 2008. He lost to Pankaj Advani in 2008 National Snooker Championship.
His biggest achievement came in 2009 when he bags the Gold Medal in Indoor Asian Game Team event with Aditya Mehta & Brijesh Damani.
In 2013 he claimed Gold Medal with Alok Kumar and Brijesh Damani in inaugural Asian Team Snooker Championship held in Doha by thrashing Iran 3-0 in the finals.
He also begged the 2013 National Snooker Championship by beating Brijesh Damani 6-2 in eleven frames decider.
Aditya Mehta beat Manan Chandra 6-3 in the final of the of National snooker championship 2015 but not before experiencing some resistance.
Manan’s father Sheel Chandra ji was ardent Bridge and Billiards Player. He was one of the richest man and had a palatial house in Luteyn’s Delhi. Manan is married to Anuja Thakur, who is also a successful Indian amateur snookers and billiards player making a truly Snooker Family.
